Many of you may not realize that before our fierce founder, Joy Eubanks, became the “Crazy Cat Lady” she was studying for her Master of International Studies degree in Quebec, Canada. The fall of 1999 was one of the most memorable times of her life. The culture, beautiful landscapes, breathtaking mountains, gardens and history were mesmerizing to her. It was a time of adventure, a time of understanding other societies and a time for listening and learning. It was also a time when Marley was alive. It was a happy time from the past combined with new life endeavors of saving the voiceless that lead to the origination of the name Château Chat. Château Chat means "Cat Castle" in French and is a wonderful tribute to finding that happy place.

Château Chat Details:

  • 3,000 square foot cottage built for housing felines responsibly
  • A center location for Marley Fund
  • 5 community rooms with plenty of stimulation and comfort for the animals
  • Many rooms to provide proper health care for felines: medical station, storage, supplies room and much more
  • Volunteer meeting room for creative hearts

Purpose

Even though our foster network is a powerful one, Marley Fund needs an official location open to the public for education, to house cats, for an adoption center, to open up volunteer possibilities and plainly because FeLV and FIV felines do not have a place to go—this is that place.
