About Us

We are the Marley Fund , a nonprofit 501c3 animal rescue foster network and education center, with affiliates and networks across the country in the name of felines—one feline in particular named Marley, our organization’s namesake. Marley passed away October 9, 2001 due to his positive Feline Leukemia (FeLV) status and other complications. Feline Leukemia Virus is the number one killer of domestic cats to date. Through him we have learned so much, he taught us that life is short, to love others and that life is what you make of it, each day is a gift. He also taught us about the pitfalls and challenges that accompany the end stages of this disease. Marley paved the way for others like him; we could not have foreseen so many others from across the country could identify with his story. It’s been almost a decade since his passing and we are still here helping others understand, learn testing protocol and counseling those that need our help on a daily basis. Growing every day, touching as many hearts as we can—this one is for you my friend, Save the Pussy!

Mission

Our Mission

The Marley Fund is dedicated to making a difference in the fight against feline retroviruses, including both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses, through public service, promoting awareness and educating the public.  Knowledge about feline diseases and their prevention is essential to the Fund’s mission of stopping the viral cycles and ultimately eradicating feline retroviruses.  As the only national nonprofit dedicated to offering an alternative option to immediate euthanasia, we have created a foster network for infected cats—where quality care and life enrichment are the primary concern. Additionally, our current focus is to build Château Chat to expand and continue our efforts.

What makes us unique?

Briley

We help animals across the country; some come from far and wide to safety with us. As some do not believe that positive felines have a place in their realm. Marley Fund has focused and worked diligently to help as many other rescue groups and individuals understand the need for testing and plainly educated them in order to try to change behavior and help others understand that retroviruses aren’t that bad. We believe that we are making a difference however small in this fight. From a public relation stand point; it took nearly three decades for the public to realize the truth about HIV, with millions upon millions of dollars spent to make this change. You can imagine the road we have in front of us for felines. Marley Fund will never stop and is determined to try to help as many as we can along our travels. If any rescue group deserved a helping hand it would be ours. From the heart we truly only have said no to persons or groups solely based on space limitations and this doesn’t happen that often because we always try to find a foster to help. Our hearts are always bigger than our bank account, but responsibly we try to find a way making our goal to build Château Chat a much-needed reality.
